A message from your principal
The second six weeks
starts now!
Dear West Families,
As we begin the first week of our second six weeks, expectations are set—academically and behaviorally. Our scholars know the routines, the learning expectations, and the standards for conduct that will help them succeed.
Now is the time to build on that foundation. Every scholar should arrive on time, prepared to learn, complete assignments, respond to feedback, and make choices that protect learning for everyone. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home and partnering with us as we continue moving every scholar forward.
The Westside Energy Train is moving forward—together, we will Conduct the Energy. Own the Results. Let’s make the second six weeks our strongest yet!

Clear expectations protect learning time and help every scholar arrive ready to succeed.
Texas HB 1481
School day = device-free.
Texas law requires public schools to prohibit student use of personal communication devices on school property during the school day. At West, personal devices must be turned off and properly stored.

Solid green, gold, black, white, or gray collared polo/button-up; chest logo 1 inch or smaller.
Bottoms
Solid black, khaki, gray, navy, or olive pants, shorts, capris, skirts, or jumpers. Length and fit rules apply.
Shoes
Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes must be worn.
Outerwear
Any color, appropriately sized; a compliant collared shirt must be worn underneath. Hoods stay off indoors.
Spirit Fridays: dark blue or black hemmed jeans may be worn with a DeSoto ISD spirit shirt or approved collared shirt. Campus administration makes final compliance decisions.

Breakfast is served in classrooms during SEL Advisory. Scholars move with four-minute passing periods, and the school day ends at 4:20 PM.
